Matthew 15:32-38

32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” 33 Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?” 34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.” 35 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. 36 And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. 38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.
The mission of the Mercy House is to be His hand extended; feeding, clothing and providing both physical and spiritual needs.
Just as Jesus did in the story above. Jesus did not criticize the people because they were not prepared, nor did he judge them for not having any food. He simply saw their need, they were hungry, and he fulfilled it. He did not have a gourmet meal with fancy dinnerware. He took what was available (the few loaves of bread and fish), prayed over it, and used it to bless the people. God has blessed us with the resources to bless those in need of food and clothing and that is what we do.
The Mercy House is open on Tuesdays from 10-12 and 2-6. We provide free food and clothing, as well as some household items, to those in need. The Mercy House also provides prayer and comfort. We have a prayer room if you want to be alone with God to talk to Him. We will also be willing to stop and pray for you. Mercy House is more than just food and clothes. It’s love, comfort, and smiles.
